Industrial Hygienist/Safety Technician

A full-service firm offering creative solutions in environmental engineering, health and safety services seeks a motivated EH&S professional specializing in regulated building materials-environmental surveys and abatement project monitoring, e.​ g.,​asbestos and lead-based paint, etc.​ to join our staff on a full-time or part-time basis.​ The selected individuals will be responsible for conducting building inspection surveys, collecting and reviewing data, and preparing reports.​

Skills Required

Candidates should possess:

  • Minimum of 3 +​years’ experience in asbestos and lead-based surveys.​
  • Experience with applicable Federal, state and local regulations.
  • Current AHERA asbestos training certifications.​
  • Current NJ DCA lead-based paint certifications.​
  • Experience in preparation of inspection reports.​
  • Personal interface and communications abilities and able to work as a member of a field team.​
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental or earth sciences, engineering or related field.​
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® products: Word® and Excel®.​

The following are also highly desirable:

  • Experience in conducting asbestos and lead-based paint inspections in schools.​
  • Safety, HAZWOPER and confined space training.​
  • Indoor air quality/​industrial assessment and sampling monitoring experience.​
  • New York and Pennsylvania asbestos and lead-based paint certifications.
  • Experience performing Site Safety for construction/remediation projects.

Responsibilities

Conduct asbestos and lead-based surveys in New Jersey and Mid-Atlantic area and assist in other environmental technician-consultant duties, such as industrial hygiene monitoring, indoor air quality, site H&S oversight, data review and report preparation.​  This is a hands-on position involving travel to multiple locations in New Jersey as well as overnight and out of state travel approximately 50% of the year. ​Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to successfully complete a medical exam designed to evaluate the ability to perform physical requirements of the position (e.​g.​ bending, kneeling, standing, confined space entry, and lifting and carrying objects weighing 30 pounds) and to wear a respirator.​ 

Base Location

This position is based at PARS’ Corporate Headquarters in Robbinsville, New Jersey and will include travel throughout New Jersey and Mid-Atlantic area.​ 

Mid-Level Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineer

A full-service firm offering creative solutions in environmental engineering, health and safety services seeks a motivated Mid-Level Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineer who will be responsible for performing environmental assignments under the supervision of senior level technical staff.

Candidate should possess:

  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with remedial investigations; design, installation, operation & maintenance of remedial systems; environmental permitting; supervision of subcontractors; data evaluation; report preparation.
  • Experience with applicable Federal,state and local regulations.
  • Ability to perform in adverse conditions and maintain rigorous documentation of field activities.
  • Working knowledge of GIS or CAD is a plus.
  • Maryland licensed P.E. preferred, with ability to obtain reciprocity in Washington D.C.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct environmental field investigations including soil, ground water, ambient air, indoor air and surface water. Perform evaluations of field and laboratory analytical data and prepare reports and documentation of environmental investigation results, including development of maps and figures using GIS or CAD.  Conduct remediation activities in the field for petroleum and hazardous waste contaminated sites.   Prepare reports and documents for remediation projects.

Base Location:

This position is based in Baltimore, MD and will include travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic area.
