Nano-OxTM: A Highly Efficient Oxygen Release Product
Nano-Ox is a specially formulated, highly efficient time-release grade of nanoparticles that are designed to assist in the rapid aerobic bioremediation of hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater.

The limiting factor in aerobic metabolism of hydrocarbons is often oxygen, which functions as a terminal electron acceptor. To help address this concern, Nano-Ox provides a slow release of oxygen via the reaction with water of nano size particles of chemicals that include calcium peroxide. The extremely small size of the chemicals substantially increases the reactivity, kinetics and transport of Nano-Ox in the subsurface. Laboratory studies have demonstrated that Nano-Ox releases oxygen immediately upon application and can continually release oxygen for over a year.
Nano-Ox Contains More Available Oxygen than Other Products
Nano-Ox is formulated to contain over 20 percent Available Oxygen (AO) (a measure of how much oxygen is available to be released). This compares to a 5 to 10 percent Available Oxygen level found in other oxygen release products that are currently being used in environmental remediation. This means that on a pound to pound basis, Nano-Ox is able to deliver 2 to 4 times more oxygen than competing products. This results in a more economical and faster treatment of hydrocarbon contaminants in soil and groundwater when Nano-Ox is used.
What Differentiates Release Products?
- Higher Active Oxygen
Nano-Ox is formulated to contain over 20% AO compared to other standard oxygen release products which typically contain only 5-10% AO.
- Rigorous Raw Materials Control
Nano-Ox is produced using high purity raw materials to insure a high purity product that do not contain heavy metals.
- Ease Of Use
Nano-Ox can be applied in dry form into the vadose zone or ex-situ in land farming applications, or in slurry form for subsurface injection using fixed monitoring wells or direct push application.
